Project 351 was supposed to commence, Saturday, Jan 8 but due to inclement weather, it was postponed until, Saturday, Jan. 15. Following that, students were divided into groups for their service orientation at one of five sites. The sites include: Cradles to Crayons, Countdown to Kindergarten, the Greater Boston Food Bank, The Dimock Center and Blackstone Elementary School in the South End. After participating in the community service, everyone was transported back to Cradles to Crayons and enjoyed a celebration with food and music.
Brittany was assigned to work at the Boston Food Bank. Along with other students, Brittany helped staff with three activities: packing bags of apples for senior citizens, making weekend lunch bags for South Boston children who may otherwise go without food for the weekend and helping to sort food for grocery bags destined for senior citizens.
